Inclusion and community are the cornerstones of Sigma Transport’s identity, and these values are embedded into every aspect of our operations. We are committed to making a positive difference in the communities we serve, not just through our business, but through active engagement and volunteer efforts.
In 2015, Sigma Transport launched its Community Impact Program, an initiative aimed at creating meaningful change in local communities. This grassroots effort began with a small group of associates who were passionate about giving back and grew into a company-wide initiative.
Since its inception, the program has expanded significantly, with chapters now in several key locations. These local chapters are dedicated to addressing a variety of causes—from disaster relief with organizations like the Red Cross, to supporting community events in the areas we operate, and even volunteering at shelters. In 2022, we implemented a Volunteer Time Off (VTO) policy, encouraging associates to take paid time off specifically for community service.
One of the most impactful elements of the Community Impact Program is the collaboration between different Sigma Transport Resource Groups (STRGs), including Women of Sigma, and Diversity Allies, which work together to enhance community engagement efforts. We are deeply proud of the tremendous efforts made by our associates to give back and create lasting, positive change.
Innovation & Leadership
At Sigma Transport, we place a high value on innovation, creativity, and leadership. We know that to stay ahead in the rapidly evolving transportation industry, we must continuously embrace new ideas and technologies. This is why we invest heavily in learning and development to ensure our associates have the tools and knowledge they need to lead and innovate.
The transportation industry is dynamic and constantly changing. To remain on the cutting edge, we offer ongoing opportunities for professional growth, whether through technical training for our drivers or leadership development for our corporate team. Our goal is to equip our associates with the skills and confidence they need to make informed, safe, and effective decisions.
At Sigma, we offer several specialized education tracks to help our associates grow, including Leadership Development and Technical Expertise courses. Associates have access to these tracks both independently and in small group settings to enhance their learning experience. Additionally, we provide access to a wide range of online courses, free of charge, for those interested in expanding their knowledge outside of the logistics field.
For those looking to take their professional growth to the next level, we offer targeted development programs such as Sigma’s Internship Program and Sigma’s Professional Growth Program. These initiatives provide hands-on experience, mentorship, and the opportunity to advance within the company.
We’re also excited to introduce our upcoming Career Pathway Platform, an interactive tool that will help associates chart their career growth at Sigma Transport. This platform will provide tailored “blueprints” for both vertical and lateral career moves, with personalized course recommendations to help associates gain the skills they need for the next stage in their careers.
